Mojang marked Minecraft’s 10th anniversary by giving a discounted price and releasing classic Minecraft free of charge. Classic Minecraft refers to Minecraft as it was originally developed. To be honest, it was quite basic. It was very basic and you had few blocks to use. There weren’t any evil mobs either. You can now play the classic Minecrafft game in a web browser.
Classic Minecraft comes with limitations. For one, you cannot save a game, you can’t use your usual Minecraft/Mojang/Microsoft account to login, you cannot join any existing server games, and basically anything to do with your main account will not work with it.
For this, you will need to use a very modern browser. Firefox or Chrome are sufficient. Playing requires a keyboard, and mouse. You cannot use a controller that is connected to the system with your game console.
Up to 9 players can join you, with a choice of small, medium or large maps. To generate a game, visit this page. You can choose a nickname. This will provide you with a link you can share to your friends, inviting them all to join you in the same game.
A brief explanation of controls is provided. They are simple and easy to understand. The controls are simple and do not require any special tools. Items can be placed together with each other with the same click.
For movement and jumping the WASD keys can be used. The Spacebar is for jumping. F allows for fogggling.
This won’t cause as many problems as the real game but will use a lot of RAM from your browser. A good thing to do is make sure your system doesn’t consume too much RAM. You can close any other tabs while you are playing.
It’s not an immersive experience. This is not a game you can play for hours. There is a certain nostalgia that can be enjoyed, although it should not be overdone. It’s a game that allows you to be creative. With whatever blocks are at your disposal, you can make what you wish. Your friends can join you in building together.
The game ends if there is no one else in it. To rejoin the game with other players, visit its link.
