The very first review of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury has now been published by Japanese publication, Famitsu. Just over a week has passed since the official release date of this verdict.
Famitsu’s rating system allows four independent reviewers to give the game a score out of 10. In this case, however, the reviewers chose scores of 9, 9 and 8, respectively, which resulted in a total score of 36/40.
As noted by VGC, Famitsu awarded the original Wii U version of Super Mario 3D World a score of 38/40, a slightly higher score than the publication has given to the new Switch game. The review reportedly calls the Bowser’s Fury mode “a lot of fun”, while also praising the new mode’s challenge and replayability and the online functionally offered in the base game.
The game will receive our review a bit closer to its release. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury launches exclusively on Switch on 12th February – and you can pre-order it now.
